Un voyage spirituel porté par un metal moderne
After their first EP « Mahara » (2015), Aro Ora (aka AO), developped their universe around philosophical thoughts about Mankind seen through the prism of its environment.
Their name comes from Maori language : Aro means « to head/face towards », Ora means « to be reborn/heal » and Ao evokes « the world and the universe ». The band immersed itself in a reflexion about humans, their desires, their power games, their first appearance and unavoidable extinction.
The cycle of the universe is approached as if it were the beat of a heart, from its birth to its death and through its endless resurrections. In order to give life to these inspirations, the French band produces a rhythmically intense metal combining groove, brutality and melody contrasted by ambiant and melancholic instrumental sections supported by a visceral voice.
Wairua (« soul ») is a spiritual journey where the power of modern metal and the flight of a red ibis lead the way during the quest of an unquenchable thirst for wisdom and knowledge
